Massage Therapy State Requirements

State Requirements

Licensing requirements for massage therapy professionals are not the same in every state and may include additional requirements beyond those offered in our course. U.S. Career Institute has reviewed the educational requirements for occupational licensure associated with this program and has provided state-specific licensure determinations. Prospective students should review the information provided by U.S. Career Institute. Students who have questions regarding licensure requirements in a particular state, their individual circumstances, or the licensure process are encouraged to contact the applicable licensing board for additional guidance. In the absence of state regulation, county or municipal ordinances or regulations may apply, and prospective students should confirm any applicable local requirements.

Residents of AR, AZ, CA, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, MS, MO, NC, ND, NE, NV, NH, NM, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, WA, WI, and WV will not be able to gain licensure as a result of this program.

Graduates of this program may be able to gain certification or licensure (or licensure is exempt) in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Wyoming.

Please visit the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) for links to individual state licensing boards.
