Course Outline
Upon completing our program, you’ll be equipped with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills to begin your new career with confidence. You’ll learn how to help clients heal from injuries, reduce stress, and enhance their overall well-being. The curriculum covers core therapeutic massage techniques, as well as in-depth topics in human physiology and kinesiology. In addition, you’ll gain practical experience in business and marketing, along with effective communication strategies for working with both healthcare professionals and clients.
The program includes a total of 650 clock hours, made up of 450 hours of online coursework and 200 hours of hands-on training. The in-person training is completed over four weeks at our massage therapy school in Fort Collins, Colorado. We typically offer between six and eight hands-on training sessions throughout the year.

Tuition includes all lessons and other instructional materials listed on the Course Outline.
Prior to attending hands-on training, you must pay your tuition in full. The tuition does not include travel or accommodation costs for the training.
Graduates of the program are students who successfully complete the academic and hands-on training and pay tuition in full.
On the enrollment agreement, the cost of the theory portion and hands-on portion of the course are listed. In order to receive a certificate of completion,
you must finish the entire course. All hands-on training occurs over a 24-day period in Fort Collins, Colorado. USCI recognizes that traveling to Colorado
may be difficult for some students. Should you determine you want to only complete the theory portion through USCI because you wish to work with a local school for
hands-on training (or because you are taking the course for avocational reasons and do not plan to become a licensed massage therapist), you should contact the school prior to
enrollment so tuition can be adjusted. Note that in this circumstance, you will not be a graduate of USCI's Massage Therapy course. USCI encourages you to work with a local school prior to
enrollment to determine if there is an option for you to complete the hands-on training with the school. In addition, students who wish to pursue local hands-on training should review

How can I become a Massage Therapist in Utah?
- Complete Massage Therapy Training – Enroll in a Utah-approved massage therapy program with at least 600 hours of education covering anatomy, physiology, pathology, ethics, and hands-on massage techniques. Our program here at USCI is DEAC approved and takes 650 hours.
- Pass a National Licensing Exam – Pass the MBLEx (Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination), the standard exam used by most states.
- Apply for a Utah Massage Therapist License – Submit an application to the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL), including proof of education, exam results, background check, and licensing fees.
- Find a job or start your own practice. Apply to jobs at spas, health clubs, resorts, clinics, and more. Our career coaching program will help you prepare your resume and start the job search process. If you’re starting your own business, you will need to obtain a license.
