Online Social Work Curriculum and Classes
Our curriculum is developed specifically for the distance education learner by instructional designers who specialize in how to develop content for adults and well-qualified subject matter experts. In addition, U.S. Career Institute works with a program advisory council of non-U.S. Career Institute employees who work in the social work field to review content annually to ensure students receive content that is up-to-date, relevant and accurate.
Program Goal:
To prepare students to obtain entry-level employment in the social work industry.
The coursework trains students to:
Demonstrate key social work skills.
Assess important policies that affect the social work profession.
Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, to supervisors, coworkers and clients in the social work context.
Apply critical thinking skills to address problems in social work settings.
Exhibit culturally competent business ethics, confidentiality and professionalism.
Research and evaluate behavior and apply behavior modification techniques in social work scenarios.
Respect diversity regardless of race, sexual orientation, disability, age, gender, ethnicity or class.
Apply social work skills gained in the program to a real-world practicum.
