Q. What does a Pharmacy Technician do?
A. Pharmacy Technicians supply medicines to patients, prescription or over the counter. Assemble medicines for prescriptions and provide information to patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Q. How do I do clinicals?
A. Clinical is not required to graduate from our Pharmacy Tech program, however, once you complete our Pharmacy Technician program, we can help you set up an 80 hour externship with Walgreens.

Q. How does the Walgreens externship work?
A. Graduates are eligible to take advantage of an 80 hour Walgreens externship. The externship does not have an additional tuition cost, and is available to all graduates who meet the standard requirements. Even though the externship is optional, we encourage our graduates to take advantage of this great resource to get valuable hands-on experience. If you meet the requirements our graduate support representatives will help you set up the externship in your area!

Q. Do I need to get certified?
A. Upon graduation from our program, you will receive your U.S. Career Institute Certificate of Completion attesting to your accomplishment. U.S. Career Institute’s Pharmacy Technician program prepares you to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Q. Does USCI cover the cost of the certification exam?
A. Graduates from the USCI Pharmacy Technician course will receive a PTCE review guide and Certification Exam in the form of reimbursement when the following terms are met: Student submits receipt issued by PTCB, has successfully completed the course and has paid tuition in full.
