I’m Starting a New Career Even Though
I’m a Grandma
At 53 years old, Lynn’s life still runs full speed ahead. A life-long learner, she’s going back to school and starting a new career. “I like to learn new jobs and new skills. That’s why I looked into U.S. Career Institute.”
Until recently, Lynn worked as an enrichment coordinator at a senior care facility. She loved the residents there and her job fulfilled her for three years. However, she missed her three grandkids when she worked holidays or weekends. She knew it was time for a change.
That’s when she looked into U.S. Career Institute. “Medical Billing intrigued me because you could do it from home and make decent money. Plus, it sounded interesting.”
Lynn was convinced. She enrolled and jumped right into her coursework. “I liked the correspondence learning. I am self-motivated so it was perfect for me.” Lynn scheduled her study sessions around her time with her husband and grandchildren. “I loved studying at home. That was the easy part!”
Medical Billing was a new subject for Lynn, and she worried about learning medical terminology. “I thought it might be an issue, but it really wasn’t. I picked up on it easier than I thought I would.” It reassured her to know that her instructor was always available if she needed help. And the course guided her step by step through each new topic.
Each lesson taught Lynn new skills and medical knowledge. “I thought the course was very well done. The school was prompt in sending materials and grading assignments. I got good feedback from my instructor. It was a great experience.”
Lynn finished her U.S. Career Institute Medical Billing program in just two months. She received a Career Starter Kit with her course that is taking her through the steps to find a job. Soon, she hopes to work from home so she can spend more time pursuing new hobbies and having fun with her grandkids.
“I am 53 years old and I know a lot of people at this age feel it’s too late to make a career change, but it’s doable. U.S. Career Institute is a great way to make it happen. I want people to follow my lead and go for it!”
