I Never Really Liked School, But I Had a Good Time With U.S. Career Institute
Brandon is not your typical 19-year-old. His ambition to someday own his own gym pushed Brandon to begin his career by becoming a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer from U.S. Career Institute.
Before he enrolled, Brandon worked at a landscaping firm, at the hockey rink, and at his dad’s warehouse. “I was working odd jobs to make some cash.” He wanted more for his life, but where should he start?
“I was looking online for a Personal Training certificate. With five or six schools to choose from, I narrowed it down one by one. In the end, U.S. Career Institute was the school for me. I didn’t want to waste the time or money on a traditional school.”
The enrollment process went smoothly. Brandon got started on his lessons right away and the course met his expectations. “I wanted the lessons and the knowledge, not just enough info to pass an exam.”
He was able to learn at home and go at his own pace, so he could explore each topic in depth. With U.S. Career Institute’s unique course layout, Brandon overcame his past learning obstacles. “I’ve never been that good at taking tests, but the open-book format was perfect. It allowed me to go back to the notes I took while studying to really understand what I was learning.”
Brandon still worked several jobs and had family obligations, but he kept everything balanced. “Managing my time was challenging. I had very full days, but I just knew I needed to do it.”
Plus, everything Brandon learned directly related to his career. His interest in the material kept him focused and motivated. “I’ve never really liked school, but with this, I looked forward to every new lesson – I had a good time with it.” The course taught him valuable health and fitness information that he will use every day on the job. In addition, he learned about the ins and outs of running a business.
Now Brandon is putting his education to work. He is a Certified Fitness Trainer and looks forward to the next step in the process. “My goal is to have my own place, with lots of people working for me, and for my business to grow.”
